Garbage can lids and brooms and sticks make up just a few of the "instruments" used for this percussive symphony. Stomp has been packing in audiences at the Orpheum Theatre since 1994, and is still running strong.
Synopsis: Stomp is a high-energy, percussive symphony, coupled with dance, played entirely on non-traditional instruments, such as garbage can lids, buckets, brooms and sticks.
Performances from 18 Feb 1994
Opening 27 Feb 1994
126 Second Avenue
New York, NY
There is no cast recording of Stomp, but you can hear the group on two albums: Quincy Jones' Q's Jook Joint has one cut of the group, titled "Stomp." The group also appears on the soundtrack of the film Tank Girl.
There are two DVDs of Stomp performances: Stomp Live, filmed in Brighton, England, and the HBO special "Stomp Out Loud."
