The 1959 musical The Sound of Music features a score by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II with a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. The musical was later adapted into a 1965 film starring Julie Andrews as Maria, the postulant who looks over the von Trapp children.
