Lady Gaga, or Stefani Germanotta, as she was known when she played Adelaide in her high school production of Guys and Dolls, has the edge and sensitivity to play Sally. She's also got the vocal chops — the native New Yorker has performed songs from the American songbook, including an unadorned rendition of "Someone to Watch Over Me," backed by piano and a trumpet soloist on "The Today Show," and "Orange Colored Sky" on her 2011 holiday special.
