Here's Playbill.com's weekly "Last Chance" reminder to catch Broadway, Off-Broadway and world-premiere productions before they take a final bow.
Concluding Sept. 29
US (Off-Broadway at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre). US is a new play by Michelle Clunie ("Queer As Folk") in which she stars opposite Jeff LeBeau. US is described as a "21st century love story set against the backdrop of the 2008 Presidential election. US examines the power struggles in both politics and the bedroom. It dissects how people meet, communicate, copulate and fall in love in the age of constant media and technology." Visit USThePlay.com.
Concluding Sept. 30
Heartless (Off-Broadway at Signature Theatre Company's The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center). In Sam Shepard's Heartless, according to Signature Theatre, "Sally lives with her mysterious family in a cavernous home overlooking Los Angeles. When a visitor arrives, Sally's dark secrets — and the secrets of those around her — threaten to come into the light." The cast includes Jenny Bacon, Gary Cole, Betty Gilpin, Claire van der Boom and Lois Smith. Visit SignatureTheatre.org.
Bullet For Adolf (Off-Broadway at New World Stages). Bullet for Adolf is a new comedy by Woody Harrelson and Frankie Hyman. The cast includes Marsha Stephanie Blake, Brandon Coffey, David Coomber, Shamika Cotton, Shannon Garland, Lee Osorio, Tyler Jacob Rollinson and Nick Wyman. Here's how it's described: "During the summer of 1983, in the sweltering heat of Houston, an unlikely friendship is formed when a couple of mid-western rubes with uncertain futures meet up with a slick New Yorker on the run from his past. The disappearance of a WWII artifact sets off a chain of events that proves that nothing changes the present like a blast from the past. The characters that populate this hysterical, rapid-fire new comedy by real-life friends Woody Harrelson and Frankie Hyman are based on real people, though the events depicted are fiction and the names have been changed to protect the not-so-innocent."
