Primary Stages' production of Motherhood Out Loud officially opened Off-Broadway Oct. 4, following previews that began Sept. 20 at 59E59 Theaters. The limited engagement will continue through Oct. 29.

Lisa Peterson, who has been developing the piece with over a dozen writers the past few seasons, directs a cast that includes Tony Award winner Randy Graff (City of Angels, Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof), Mary Bacon (Rock ‘n’ Roll, Happy Now?), James Lecesne (Boys in the Band) and Saidah Arrika Ekulona (Well, The Thugs).

Here, Givenik.com hits the red carpet on opening night and chats with the cast about their Off-Broadway journey as well as their experience working with Primary Stages.

According to Primary Stages, “When entrusting the subject of motherhood to such a dazzling collection of celebrated American writers, what results is a joyous, moving, hilarious, and altogether thrilling theatrical play. Utterly unpredictable, Motherhood Out Loud shatters traditional notions about parenthood, unveils its inherent comedy and celebrates the deeply personal truths that span and unite generations. Motherhood Out Loud reveals with illuminating insight the humor, raw emotions and rocky roads we experience in life.”
