THEIR FAVORITE THINGS: Tony Winner Christine Ebersole Shares Her Cherished Theatregoing Experiences
22 Feb 2012
Playbill.com's new feature series, Their Favorite Things, asks members of the theatre community to share ten of the Broadway performances that most affected them as part of the audience.
This week we spotlight the choices of two-time Tony winner Christine Ebersole, who has returned to the Cafe Carlyle for a winter engagement through Feb. 25.
Following her late nights at the Carlyle, Ebersole is also scheduled to travel "Around the World" (to borrow a phrase from Grey Gardens) with Playbill in December 2012 as part of the second luxury cruise with Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Broadway on the High Seas 2.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
