Experience Summer With Stars from Anastasia, Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, and More
For Anastasia's Christy Altomare, summer means spending time in Bryant Park and making music.
"I think what is so beautiful about New York City is that it has these parks where you can come and sit with nature and be one with the birds and other life besides human beings for a little bit. It’s almost like my church. It feels spiritual.”
In addition to playing guitar, the ukulele provides another outlet of expression for the Anastasia leading lady.
"That’s all they say you need: 'Three chords and the truth.'"
As a recent resident of Brooklyn, Newsies alum Andrew Keenan-Bolger has been spending his summer exploring DUMBO with his new dog, Archie.
"I love DUMBO, it’s got this kind of nitty-gritty industrial charm of 19th century architecture mixed with this modern start-up vibe. There is a ton of culture and art here."
“The heat forces everyone outdoors. It just becomes a melting pot of cultures and peoples, and there is a lot to see. It seems like everywhere you turn, there is something going on."
"I think as far as experiences go in the city, for whatever reason, summer brings out the best ones."
After living in Los Angeles, the warmer weather allows Dear Evan Hansen's Kristolyn Lloyd the opportunity to hike at Fort Tryon Park.
"I like staying active because it’s good for my brain. Its good to be pushed and challenged physically and doing things that I didn’t think I could do for as long as I am doing them. There is something really satisfying about that. It’s therapeutic."
