From Central Perk to the Chick and the Duck: Get Up Close With the Props of Friends!the Musical Parody
We had to recreate Monica’s iconic peep hole frame. Finding the right door color was key, and making the door quickly accessible during changes took a great deal of theatrical ingenuity.
Our backstage left prop shelves feature my favorite Trifle dish with its hidden gags...
Here we see our Smelly Cat tucked away from the action – Peeeeyouuuu! Yuck!
We took great delight in trying recreate the Central Perk’s fonts by hand (thanks to Ian McDonald).
We couldn't have the Central Perk without Gunther’s counter...filled with yummy pastries and absurd mugs—wee, not so wee and freakin huge!
We had to fight to keep Joey from eating our faux pastries. We failed. He ate 2 of them...nope 3 (we had a brownie in there!)
Paul (Stancato) wanted to go big, bigger and BIG! for the opening Central Perk scene.
Phoebe's Guitar. Who cares if she uses a capo. I believe this is Paul Stancato’s personal guitar, and its rad!
Oh, Smelly Cat. We bought a nice clean kitty and took her outside in the Theatre's alley and sprayed her with safety orange paint...Meeeeoooops l think she may have fallen into a puddle or three as well.
A great little find from my nieces’ doll collection. Oops, I revealed my source...Thanks Cali and Leah Iacovelli.
