The Best Looks in Red Carpet Fashion From Opening Night of Eclipsed
Montego Glover made a splash in her Springy floral and block print cocktail dress. The hair, the make-up, the shoes.. they were all just fabulous, and you knew she knew it from that 100 mega-watt smile! Radiant!!
Danai Gurira, the author of Eclipsed, wowed the crowd in a diaphanous gown of flowing silk chiffon in the two trend-right colors of 2016, Rose Quartz and Serenity Blue! ? (...and to think that she fights zombies wielding a Japanese katana on AMC’s “The Walking Dead”! How is it possible to be that gorgeous and talented, too! Danai can do it all!!)
Zainab Jah was a slivery vision in a halter-necklined geometric column of sparkle. No need for too much jewelry when you’ve got this much going on in your gown! The simple drop earrings were exactly the right choice! And that 1920s bobbed hair is starting to be seen everywhere now! Gorgeous!
Megan Hilty brought the Va-Va-Va-Voom factor to the night with a sinfully fitted floral print sheath trimmed in black with matching black peep-toe heels. The vivid violet and coral shimmered for the strobes, and the halter neckline and Megan’s sunny blond hair promised some warmer-much-warmer temperatures ahead!! “Having a Heat-Wave” sums it up perfectly!
Vicki Clark made an entrance in her cerulean coat and silvery-blue scarf over a cool, fitted “L.B.D.” (Little Black Dress). This is how to arrive on a red carpet for the photographers and still remain stylish!
Courtney Reed looked beyond-lovely in her tribal/geometric/jungle print tea-length dress. Strapless and fitted at the top, it flared into a 50s flounce in a very chic black and white! Sexy and sophisticated!
La La Anthony’s pale celadon ombre dress featured shimmering Fortuny micro-pleats and a bit of a cut-out, and celebrated a curvy girl who knows exactly what works for her.
Kelsey Scott looked terrific in her mid-length shantung silk and lace-bodice dress. The capped sleevelettes contrasted beautifully with that super-plunging neckline and the sexy lacings criss-crossing her bust. And the pale champagne was a perfect choice for her palette!! A+++
Marvet Britto brought cutting edge fashion to the opening last night in her graphite and white long-sleeve fitted dress. The chevron-detailing, and the piped button plaquette and pockets offset that romantic lace hemline. And those booties! Wow!!
Lupita Nyong’o arrived in a glorious teal, lace and ruffled full-length dress. Perfectly on-trend with that plunging deep-V neckline, it’s from Balmain’s pre-Fall 2016 collection! That’s right folks, Lupita is that ahead of the curve. Let me just say, it’s so exciting to have a giant talent on Broadway who happens to be one of my favorite fashion-icons in entertainment today. Thank you Lupita!!!
