Callbacks will be held by invitation only February 23, 2018. We will not accept video submissions and we will only be seeing people in the Los Angeles area.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

Dorothy Brock (Lead): ALL ETHNICITIES Female 40-49 A genuine star, elegant, now fading a bit. Move well, comic timing needed Low alto to low Eb.

Billy Lawlor (Lead): ALL ETHNICITIES Male, 20-29 Extraordinary tap dancer who can sing beautifully and believably play the “juvenile lead.” Tenor

Maggie Jones (Supporting): ALL ETHNICITIES Female, 40-49 Half of a writing duo. Sing and move well, comic timing a must, warm and charming. Character alto

Bert Barry (Supporting): ALL ETHNICITIES Male, 40-49 Half of a writing duo. Sing and move well, comic timing a must, vaudeville flair. Character baritone

Abner Dillon (Supporting): ALL ETHNICITIES Male 40-65 Sugar Daddy, Texan, big presence.

Pat Denning (Supporting): ALL ETHNICITIES Male 30-50 Dorothy’s former vaudeville partner and love interest, leading man

Oscar (supporting): ALL ETHNICITIES Male any age Piano Accompanist for “Pretty Lady”; piano playing a plus
Anytime Annie (supporting): ALL ETHNICITIES Female 25-35

Women’s Ensemble: ALL ETHNICITIES Must be very strong tappers who sing very well. The roles of Gladys, Diane, and Ethel will come from the ensemble.

Men’s Ensemble: ALL ETHNICITIES Must be very strong tappers who sing very well. The roles of Mac, Doc, Thugs, etc. will come from the ensemble, as will the Thief(non-speaking), a lithe-Fosse-esque character in the ballet.
