Florida Studio Theatre is seeking a mid-season replacement for an Acting Apprentice.

Applicants should be available from January 2020-May 2020. This Acting Apprentice will perform in a TYA tour of WRITE IT OUT!, an interactive show for children in grades K-5 that teaches students how to write plays of their own, and a spring touring performance of THE STAR WHO COULD NOT TWINKLE, featuring the best plays written by children in the 19-20 school year through FST’s WRITE  A PLAY program. In addition to performing this apprentice will teach playwriting workshops for children and maintain additional duties at the theatre in other departments. 

Applicants should have a passion for theatre, specifically performing for children, and an interest in learning about the operations of a LORT theatre. No prior teaching experience needed, will train.


Compensation includes:

• Weekly stipend of $120

• Free furnished housing

• Utilities including cable and internet

Program Description 

FST’s Professional Training Program is an immersive and comprehensive way to bridge the gap between academic theatre and the professional world and to provide additional training and experience to those individuals who are serious about careers as theatre professionals.
