Saratoga Shakespeare Company is offering professional internships in the Young Theatre Professional Company for the 2019 summer season. There will be two professional productions – King Lear and The Tempest. Equity Membership Candidate credit is available as well as options for academic credit from Skidmore College.
There are four ways to be a part of SSC this summer. You can participate in:
· Acting –participate in daily training (voice, movement and classical acting) with Actors Equity members. Interns will collaborate with, observe, and ultimately learn from the professional artists of SSC. Actors will perform with and/or understudy Equity actors. You must audition in person at our EPA or submit a video AND submit a letter of recommendation to be considered for this.
· Directing – work on one of the two mainstage productions as an Assistant Director, direct projects and have some technical responsibilities.
· Technical Theatre – work on set, props, sound, costumes and running crew with the professional staff. Well-qualified technicians may be eligible for a fee reductions or stipends.
· Administrative Duties – assist the day-to-day operations, marketing, social media and house managing.

Auditions for Acting Candidates will be held at Skidmore College on Saturday, March 30. For an audition appointment, please contact Linda Bertrand at firstname.lastname@example.org or 518-306-5931. Actors should prepare two Shakespearean monologues at least one of which should be comic (2-3 minutes total) and should bring their headshots and résumés to the auditions.
