"Biggest change: I actually really enjoy auditioning. Karen is an amazing teacher and her classes are small, so you get to work in each class. There is no better way to start the audition season." —Alex Kuas

This class is ideal for:
• Auditioning actors who want to troubleshoot/up their game/book more
• Actors who have completed training and are starting to audition seriously but have not yet received comprehensive audition training
• Actors returning to the business who want to get back in shape for auditions

It's 2 classes in 1:

FEARLESS COLD READING is a 10-point system that works for cold AND prepared readings. The points get you out of your head, connected to your partner/reader, and telling the story of the scene with focused, bold, adventurous choices. You'll learn what to immediately look for and notice in a script, including actions, stakes, structure, changes, genre and style. We also address how to take direction fully and quickly, working with good, average, and bad readers; and, troubleshooting difficult/unexpected direction & partner choices.

FEARLESS AUDITION TECHNIQUE helps you master all of the non-acting moments in an audition. You will know how to enter and exit with confidence and ease; when, when not, and how to chat; how to best answer common industry questions like "Tell me about yourself", "What have you been doing lately?" and even, "How are you?". You need these skills in place for your auditions now, and when you walk the red carpet or interview on talk shows—it's the same skill set.

Group A | Wed PM 6-10pm | Jan 22, 29, [skip Feb 5], Feb 12, 19

I learned more in your class than in any class since I graduated. I have a confidence that I carry with me into auditions that I have never had.
—Caroline Slaughter

I highly, highly recommend this class with Karen Kohlhaas. I suddenly started booking so much more work. She's really a fantastic teacher and a wonderful person, I couldn't get enough of this class.
—Lorianna Izrailova

I was asked to cold read in a firing squad type situation where three agents watched me read while sitting on a couch about 3 feet away from me. I aced it, and even after previously telling me he had no more room for me on his roster the agent was suddenly trying to make some room. Honestly I would have choked on that cold read and those interviews before I took your class. I feel so much more prepared and I just want to thank you again.
—Clem McIntosh

One of the producers pulled me aside to tell me my audition/cold read was one of the best she had seen in the auditions, and that obviously whatever audition classes I had took paid off. This came only weeks after completing your cold reading class.
—Jason Barker

I had to cold read at an audition the other day with a casting director and she said, "I can't believe you just got that side 2 minutes ago!" I felt so confident in making bold instinctual choices, so thank you again!
—Monica West

I just got a callback for the first audition I have had since your class and I think listening to my reader, going back to the script and keeping the energy up made an extraordinary difference in both my performance and ability to be open to direction. And, best of all, the audition was really fun.
—Anna Kull

Thanks to what we learned in class, I'm standing, sitting, and walking taller, and it's made a huge impact on the way I perceive my life. Thank you, for this awesome tool!
—Laura Yumi Snell

Thanks so much for a fantastic class—yet again—and the invaluable cold reading techniques you taught us. Many thanks again for all your help, both inspirational and practical.
—Bhavna DeMontebello

My cold reading skills are becoming really sharp by practicing what you taught us in class!
—Hilary Greer

Your fearless cold reading technique helps me feel like I am in so much more control of any character that I am auditioning for and gives me more confidence in the audition room. Your techniques have helped my career tremendously.
—Brian Morgan

My friends have noticed a change in me, not just professionally, and it's partly because of the 'peace' your class has brought me. My auditioning has become stronger and my “Oh S***” moments are much fewer and farther between in a short amount of time. I've sent recommendations to my friends to take your class.
—Maya Lynne Robinson

Your valuable class completely shifted my perspective on auditioning. My auditions have already improved significantly, and I believe this is just the beginning.
—Erel Pilo

I’m using everything I learned in your class. At an important audition recently, I listened to your "big and slow" voice in my head; saved myself from "tight and fast" and got an immediate call back!
—Madeleine Jaye

Just auditioned for a movie & they said they were blown away by my listening skills - that they could have watched me listen all day! That's thanks to your fearless cold reading lessons. Feeling empowered;)
—Allison Threadgold

Using what I learned from your amazing fearless class...the entrance, the posture and most of all the positive energy mind set, I booked a role in an indie film!! Thanks for your helpful wisdom :)
—Alyssa Potter

It was just me and the filmmaker. She gave me a quick sketch of my character, then gave me the script and let me read through the page once. Then I read with her while she recorded me on her phone. I kept in mind a few important points that Karen has taught us. When I was done, the filmmaker literally said, "I'm impressed with how well you can cold read." She told me she liked me and that I really "got" what the character was all about. She cast me on the spot.
—Miriam Lind

I got more from your workshop then I could have ever imagined. I'm taking your adjustments and knowledge and will be applying them daily. I've found that your class has made me even more aware and allowed me to adjust what needs to be adjusted before it turns into a habit.
—Emma Purvey

Just booked a role on the next episode of the Blacklist. Off to a good start. Really appreciated your insights and teaching.
—Anne Richardson

Your class has carried me through some kind of breaking point it seems. I managed to not at all be intimidated and garnered the strongest most enthusiastic response I've ever received.
—Mike Pantozzi

The cold reading class I took with you has helped tremendously. I actually had a director hand me a script at the audition without having had a chance to look it over and I was able to handle it confidently using the tips that I'd learned. Thanks so much.
—Joy Song

The cold readings technique I learned in your class last December has proved to be some of the most VALUABLE training I have received!!!
—Marlo DiCrasto

Thank you again, for teaching me Fearless Auditioning. I'm never scared, and I always represent myself with dignity, thanks to you. I do still get the good nerves. The ones that let you know you're alive. And Winning!!! Irish love.
—Ciaran Byrne

Thank you for what you have taught me. The technical part is so valuable and helps get my mind off being self conscious. I am learning much greater self trust and self acceptance as an actor. I am really grateful for this huge shift in perspective. Thank you for the work you do and the humanity that you bring in teaching auditioning. It is HUGE.
—Jenn Hamblin

Thank you for such a wonderful Cold Reading class experience. I had a great time and learned an enormous amount in a short time. I'm already using some of your tools, tips, and philosophies in auditions and I'm so grateful.
—Lily Dorment
