ANNE OF GREEN GABLES
This new folk-rock musical tells the story of a young orphan girl named Anne Shirley, who is mistakenly sent to live with two unmarried siblings; Matthew and
Marilla Cuthbert, on their family farm, Green Gables. As the show unfolds, Anne grows from a girl to a young woman on a journey that includes much happiness, a little heartbreak, and endless adventure.
The company: Seeking a diverse, multicultural ensemble of talented actor/singer/ dancers who help create both the physical and emotional world of Green Gables. All company members may play multiple roles and are expected to move. Vocal style: seeking skilled actor/singers, comfortable and equipped to sing in a range of styles including; rock/pop/folk. Unique, singular voices are a plus.
(Female, 18+ to play 12-21)
Intensely imaginative and verbose orphan in search of a family and driven by a desperate desire to belong. Feisty, passionate, stubborn, and insecure, Anne
journeys from awkward little girl to a young lady teetering on the brink of adulthood and a new, hard- won confidence. Seeking a skilled and dynamic actress with powerhouse vocals, great depth and personal appeal. Emotionally vulnerable with excellent comedic instincts. Strong belt/mix/good mover. Strong pop/folk sensibility/good mover.
(Female, 18+ to play 12-21)
Classmate and neighbor of Anne's and her eventual best friend. Beautiful, elegant, with a simple/naive nature that belies a keen intuition. On paper she
might be Anne’s opposite, but she is clearly her soul mate. Seeking a skilled and dynamic actor with excellent comedic instincts. Strong belt/mix/good mover.
RACHEL LYNDE / ENSEMBLE
The overly opinionated town gossip. Pious and outspoken, she prides herself on being a good Christian woman and the pillar of the community. Though she and Anne clash at first, she eventually becomes one of her fiercest advocates. Seeking a strong actress with sharp comedic skills and soaring vocals. Powerhouse belt/mix/good mover.
