DESCRIPTION

The Allen Lee Hughes Fellowship program is designed for recent graduates (undergraduate or graduate) and career changers interested in pursuing a career in the professional theater. The program offers personalized training and in-depth, hands-on experience with seasoned professionals in Arts Administration, Artistic Development, Communications, Community Engagement, Development, Education, Events & Rental, and Production.

The Allen Lee Hughes Fellowship is also supplemented with the following: 

  • Mentorship from a senior staff member.
  • Professional development workshops.
  • Monthly meetings with directors, designers, and senior staff administrators who provide insight into the overall management of the theater.

Additional Information:  All Fellowship positions are full-time and require a 35-week commitment generally between August and May, except for the following: 

Events & Rentals Fellow - October  - June 
Casting Fellow - January - October 

Successful candidates are highly motivated individuals who have arts-related experience and training, as well as a passion for the exploration of the human condition through dramatic forms.

Housing is not provided.  ARENA STAGE DOES NOT PROVIDE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

SALARY

$400 / week
