Target Margin Theater is hiring an Arts Management Fellowship to support a new, diverse part-time staff member from August - December 2019 at our new performance space, The Doxsee, in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The Fellow will support the company in the areas of Marketing, Development and Program Coordination. We are specifically seeking candidates whose background represents the breadth of diversity in our borough of Brooklyn and local Sunset Park community.
Theater-background or previous experience in a non-profit arts organization is required and we strongly encourage applicants of color, and of different ages and abilities, to apply. Our goal is to provide flexibility in the schedule for Fellows to pursue outside work / projects while being a core member of our team during our fall / winter programming. Ideal applicants should have an adventurous artistic appetite, embrace our mission of ‘difference’, come from a diverse background, and be committed to pursuing a career in arts management. We CHALLENGE the idea that “administrators” are not “artists” and strive to connect every person at Target Margin meaningfully to the work we create / program.
Weekly salary is $400 (plus an unlimited monthly Metro Card) with some nights and weekends required. Benefits are not included.
Supporting the company in areas of Marketing, Development and Program Mgmt, including but not limited to:
--Creating / managing creative content for weekly eblasts, social media, and website; creating / managing event series ticketing in Ovationtix; managing project timeline for digital and print advertising campaigns; organizing group sales for students and community groups.
--Drafting grant proposals, final reports, foundation / individual funder prospecting, managing development calendar and funder lists; supporting our spring gala fundraiser and end of year appeal campaigns; and creating audience surveys.
--Program coordination for TMT Lab, Institute, Artist Residency, Presenting Artists, and Special Events, including, planning and attending meetings, managing calendar and deadlines, tracking space / rehearsal hours / materials requests, creating / maintaining contact sheets, and tracking activities of program alum.
EXPERIENCE (preferred but not required):
--Bilingual (English / Spanish or English / Mandarin / Cantonese).
--Experience using Ovationtix ( or comparable ticketing platform), Wordpress, HTML, Vertical Response (or comparable email marketing platform).
--Experience using a Client Record Management (CRM) system such as Artful.ly.
