Congressional Award Winning Hypokrit Theatre Company develops and produces work by multi-cultural artists, with the purpose to widen representation in the theater community, and to make theater more relevant to an expanded audience. 

Hypokrit seeks a motivated and organized Associate Producer who will report to the Artistic Director (AD) and Producing Director (PD) on a part-time basis. The Associate Producer will handle a wide range of needs in support of a quickly-developing company. 

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a strong communicator with excellent writing and organizational skills, and has an appreciation of HTC’s programming and principles, and a strong affinity for its mission.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: 

Line Producing


  • Act as lead Line Producer for Readings, Workshops, and other Developmental events and needs at Hyporkit.

Mainstage Productions:

  • Support Producing Director with producing needs, including but not limited to: administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, paperwork, tracking expenses, etc.



  • Supporting Grant Research

  • Managing the Grant Calendar and tracking/informing AD & PD of deadlines

  • Managing Grant drafts & submitting applications

Database Management:

  • Gift entry & acknowledgments


  • Support AD & PD with Fundraising Events.


  • Create and distribute newsletter

  • Invite audience, funders and industry to readings/workshops/productions

  • Supervise website & ticket platform set-up

  • Set up e-blast swaps with partner companies

  • Supervise Social Media content creation and distribution


  • Manage AD & PD schedules through coordinating meetings

  • Hire and supervise interns & Production Assistants

Compensation:  This is a part-time hourly position. The expected hours are 20/week, with the possibility of an increase during busier months, including when we are in production. The hourly fee is competitive with industry rates.
