DESCRIPTION

Green Light Group Productions (GLG) is committed to the development of new musical theater works and artists. Our mission is to act as a launching pad for projects that challenge the form, reinterpret classic narratives, and provide developmental opportunities for the artists with whom we collaborate, no matter the stage of their career.

GLG is currently seeking diverse, male-identifying NYC actor-singers for a 29-hour reading of Audrey, a new musical about the life of actress and activist Audrey Hepburn. The reading will be presented on January 6, 2020, as part of the East Broadway Theater Project at the Manny Cantor Center of the Educational Alliance (Artistic Director: Gail Kriegel). In particular, we are looking for actor-singers with an interest in new works who are capable of portraying the following role:

MEL FERRER (18-35; Tenor)
An American actor, director, and producer of Cuban and Irish heritage, Ferrer studied at Princeton. He acted alongside soon-to-be stars like Gregory Peck in an LA-based theater company, and appeared in films including the movie musical Lili. Shortly thereafter, he met and began dating Audrey Hepburn. The two co-starred in several projects, including Ondine and War and Peace. Their marriage lasted from 1954 to 1968, and was plagued by rumors of dischord.  As an organization, GLG is committed to increasing the breadth of identities represented on our stages and screens. Artists of all racial and ethnic identities are encouraged to submit for this role.

For consideration, interested artists should submit the following in an email:

  • Theatrical Resume
  • Headshot
  • A video of you singing 16-32 bars of a musical theater song
  • Your general availability on both weeknights and weekends from Dec. 4, 2019 - Jan. 6, 2020.

DURATION

December 4, 2019 - January 6, 2020
