The Bushwick Starr is currently seeking a part-time Box Office Manager. The Bushwick Starr is an Obie Award winning not-for-profit theater that presents an annual season of new performance works. We are an organization defined by both our artists and our community, and since 2007, we have grown into a thriving theatrical venue, a vital neighborhood arts center, and a destination for exciting and engaging performance. We provide a springboard for emerging professional artists to make career-defining leaps, and we are a sanctuary where established artists come to experiment and innovate. We are also a neighborhood playhouse, serving our Bushwick, Brooklyn community's diverse artistic needs and impulses.

Box Office Manager responsibilities include:

-staffing the box office for 90-120 performance nights per season, with season productions generally running Wednesday-Saturday nights (although we anticipate some additional performances for upcoming productions.)

-handling both reservations and walk-up sales at the box office window

-working with House Manager to provide priority reserved seating for funders and industry professionals

-working remotely during the run of each show to respond in a timely manner to industry and group sales ticketing requests via email

-working with the Starr’s General Management Associate and Producing Director to track and report on all tickets sales

-using OvationTix as the online platform for all ticketing requests (prior experience with OvationTix is helpful but not necessary as long as you are willing to learn)

-generally acting as one of the public faces of The Bushwick Starr and handling each customer interaction with poise and mutual respect

This position is essential to the operations and programming of the Starr. We are seeking arts enthusiasts who have customer service skills, a willingness to learn, a desire to be part of a team of creative people, and a dedication to serving a broad range of both local audience and visitors.
