DESCRIPTION

The Artistic Department of The Old Globe seeks Literary and Casting interns for the Fall 2019 term. Internship dates are flexible but generally run from mid September – December, with a potential extension through January. Please read the description below for more information:

The Artistic Interns will choose to specialize in either casting or literary work, developing their background in professional theatre and learning about the day-to-day operations in the artistic department of a large regional theatre company. The intern should expect to be included in staff meetings, be a part of ongoing conversations about the artistic work of the theatre, attend shows at The Old Globe, and get exposure to a variety of staff members in many departments. An Artistic Intern focused in casting will also assist with auditions, maintenance of headshot and audition databases, as well as preparation and correspondence with companies for upcoming shows. An Artistic Intern focused in literary development, on the other hand, will assist with maintenance of The Old Globe Script Database, reading and evaluating scripts, as well as assisting on new play development workshops. This is an unpaid part-time internship, available for college credit on a semester-to-semester basis.

Candidates from all fields of study are encouraged to apply!

All interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume with three references to ArtisticInterns@theoldglobe.org by Friday, September 13, 2019. All candidates will be notified of their application status by Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

No calls please.
