Casting for Musical Web Series (Pilot Episode)

Writer/Director Ellie Gravitte (winner of both IndieFest and Best Shorts Competition Awards), teams with composer Andy Roninson (BMI, Take A Ten) bring you this original web series.
Casting 8 roles for the pilot episode shooting March-April in NYC.

25-30, Singer. Monica has a bigger presence than she always knows what to do with. People are automatically drawn to her. While she is deeply humble about her talent, she is never more powerful than when she is performing. Music is home for her. A caretaker, she constantly thinks about others before herself, and it makes her happy to do so. Magnetic kindness. Stubborn about what she loves - for better and for worse.

25-30, Singer. Confident and comfortable with herself, Alicia values honesty above everything else. She tends to spend her time alone, but she is also a fiercely loyal friend. A musician who doesn’t make music anymore. She’s only ever really loved one person.

18-22, Singer. Madeline has a love/hate relationship with her role as the baby of the family. Growing up with much older siblings, she always tried to act far older than her age. She is just beginning to learn how young she is. She is both pensive and outspoken. Speaks before she thinks - which usually puts her in some funny situations. Idolizes Monica beyond anything in her world, and wants fiercely to do the right thing by her.

25-30, Singer. Sweet, stumbly, and not quite as put together as Victor (although they are best friends). The kind of guy who falls in love with a queer woman and clings to those feelings for 10+ years. Has a constant stream of consciousness running through his head about what the proper social cue might be moment to moment.

25-35. Victor is a well put-together, trustworthy, dependable big-brother type. At his core he is warm and loving, and takes himself just a touch too seriously (which makes his seriousness charming rather than abrasive). Fun to watch when he tries handling situations outside of his comfort zone. Considers himself to have a deeply entrenched sense of self, although his convictions are put under the test in unexpected circumstances.

18-22, Singer. Jake is falling in love for the first time and trying with all his might to do it correctly. Sweet, soft spoken, and a little too afraid of doing the wrong thing. Has an idea of manhood that is righteous and good and wants terribly to live up to it.

60-65. The loving mother of three confident and independent children, Vanessa presumably did an excellent job raising them. So now she turns to herself. What’s at home when the children are not? She is kind, calm, and silently powerful. Knows her family like the back of her hand. Has the foresight to see where she is needed and the patience to wait until she is asked for her help.

25-30, Singer. Quiet, but doesn’t miss a beat. Elizabeth has been fighting a degenerative illness for a couple years now, so she is weak, but her mind is rock solid. Strong enough to keep her pain to herself and brave enough to ask for help when she needs it. Utterly adores Monica and her family. Perhaps because of her illness, she has a supremely deep understanding of the nature of certain things, including herself, and her partner.

60-65. A kind, deeply thoughtful man. Is troubled by the circumstances his family seems to be in, and not quite sure which path is the right one to take. Absolutely adores his wife and her children. Goofier than you’d expect him to be. The stepfather that is easy to love.

24-28. The perfect girl with the wrong timing. Soft, sweet, intelligent, reserved. Beautiful and patient, she sees her partner drifting away from her and understands, with compassion, that their relationship isn’t worth fighting for anymore. Only around for the first episode, but leaves a lasting impact.

Actors should submit headshot, resume, and reels to
