DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD, THE MUSICAL – NATIONAL TOUR

Non-Union North American Tour

Salary: $525/wk plus $40 per diem

All adult actors are playing children, adults and animals.  Please note that all roles will sing and dance.

All talent must have a valid driver's license and Passport(Must be at least 18 years of age.)

All performers must be physically fit and adept.

Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019 - Pearl Studios – 500 8thAve - 312 (Holding Room 314)

ALL WILL DANCE FIRST.  

 

Women: 10 – 1:30 sign up begins at 9:30 am and the list will be pulled by 10:30 am. 

Men:  2:30 – 6  Sign in begins at 1:30 and will be pulled at 2:30pm.
(Lunch is 1:30 – 2:30 PM)

 

Come prepared to dance/move first. This will be a playful and imaginative musical theatre combination. Jazz shoes or sneakers are fine. You may be asked to stay and sing/read. Please have your book of music on hand. Sides will be distributed in the room, but can be previewed on our website here:

SEEKING:

 

TRACK #1 - DANIEL TIGER: (Male or Female Actor, Any Ethnicity) Daniel is a curious, imaginative 4-year old who loves to embark on adventures. He invites our young audience members into his world, giving them a kid's eye view of his life. Any Ethnicity.Excellent Singer, Dancer Skills needed. Puppeteer experience and improv skills a plus. Please note: this is a fully costumed character role with full costume head.

 

TRACK #2 – MOM TIGER: (Female Actor - Any Ethnicity) Daniel's Mother is a homemaker, caring and always there for Daniel when he needs it. She is also mother to Daniel's baby sister, Baby Margaret. Excellent Singer/Dancer. Puppeteer Skills a plus. Warm, Mid-Low Vocal Range.

 

TRACK #3 – DAD TIGER/PRINCE WEDNESDAY/COWBOY/MR MCFEELY/VARIOUS PUPPET CHARACTERS: (Male, Any Ethnicity)Prince Wednesday is Daniel's best friend, the youngest of the royal family. Prince Wednesday likes to show his magic tricks as well as entertain, impress, and make his friends laugh with jokes & tricks. Mr. McFeely is the neighborhood mailman, delivering packages from his red bike. Excellent Singer, Dancer. Puppeteer and magic skills a plus. Must be able to ride a bike. Tenor.

 

TRACK #4 - MISS ELAINA/TEACHER HARRIET/DINOSAUR/Various Puppets: (Female, African American) Seeking a skilled character actress who can believably play multiple roles and ages.Miss Elaina is one of Daniel's best friends. She is notable for doing many silly things like 'doing things backwards'. Miss Elaina invents new games for her friends to play. She lives in a Merry-Go-Round with her eccentric parents. Teacher Harriet is Daniel's pre-school teacher. Excellent Singer/Dancer. Contemporary Pop Sound – Mid Vocal Range.

 

TRACK #5 - O THE OWL/MUSIC MAN STAN/BAKER AKER/KING FRIDAY/VARIOUS PUPPET CHARACTERS(Male Actor, African American) O the Owl is one of Daniel's friends, who lives right next to Katerina Kittycat in the same tree. O loves to read books and is usually seen with a book. He is also a curious child who is always on the lookout for new things. Music Man Stan is Miss Elaina's father. He owns the music shop in the neighborhood of Make-Believe. Baker Aker owns and runs the neighborhood bakery. Physical dexterity a must. Excellent Singer/Dancer. Puppeteer skills and musical instruments a strong plus. Full Voice Baritone.

 

TRACK #6 - KATERINA KITTYCAT: (Female, Any Ethnicity) Katerina is a cat with white fur who loves playing dress up and pretend but loves ballet the most. When she likes something or is excited she will often twirl and is quick to respond with her signature “meow meow”. Any Ethnicity. Excellent Singer/Dancer with strong ballet. Puppeteer Skills a plus. Soprano.

 

FEMALE SWING:(Any Ethnicity) Strong character actress/singer to cover all female characters and play some small roles in every show. Must be adept at dance and willing to learn puppetry.
