The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) is seeking a part-time Program Intern for the Fall. The Program intern will divide time and duties between the Membership Department and New Works Department, assisting in various programs including the administration of our Fall Conference and 31st Annual Festival of New Musicals. The Program Intern will be required to be in the NAMT office in midtown Manhattan for at least one day (minimum of 4 hours) a week from September through December. School credit available as applicable. The Internship is ideal for college students interested in learning more about arts administration, event planning and management, and the national musical theatre industry.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the administration of the Festival of New Musicals and Fall Conference, including the reservation system, data entry, meeting and script/score prep.
  • Attend the Fall Conference on October 22 and 23 and the Festival of New Musicals on October 24 and 25 (all schedule permitting) and assist with registrations and general management of these two important industry events
  • Assist the NAMT staff on other programs and projects outside of the Festival and Fall Conference which may include special events, concerts, future conferences, database management, website maintenance, archive organization, research, newsletter content, and fundraising.


Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of regional theatres, musical theatre and New York theatre industry, and a willingness to learn even more.
  • Discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, excellent computer and online skills and a quick learner on new applications.
  • A passion for musical theatre.
