AKA NYC delivers innovative solutions across media, marketing, partnerships, experiential, digital and interactive, creative, content, insights, and campaigns management, with a proven record for producing sales-driven campaigns for premium must-see productions, exhibitions, events and experiences. The Marketing & Promotions Department, in short, seeks to extend the reach of the paid advertising campaign for each of our shows through high-level strategic partnerships, negotiating in-kind sponsorships, barter exchange and promotional opportunities.
Position Objective Work collaboratively within the Marketing Department to support partnerships and promotional opportunities for AKA’s Broadway and Off-Broadway clients, including ANASTASIA, COME FROM AWAY, CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, THE BAND’S VISIT and more.
Responsibilities: Conduct research projects to seek out new partners and promotions for our Broadway and Off-Broadway clients; support Marketing department in event planning, organization and execution; assist in the development and distribution of marketing materials; log and confirm tickets for partners coordinated through our department. Other responsibilities as required, including reception coverage and various agency needs.
Qualifications: Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook; Must be able to multi-task & adapt quickly to a fast-paced working environment; High attention to detail and organization; Graceful under pressure with a sense of humor; Interest in and knowledge of the Broadway industry a plus; Great communication skills, both oral and written; Comfortable making cold calls; Candidate must be comfortable being on their feet for up to an hour at a time, traveling short distances and carrying up to 25lbs.
About the Internship:
Position available beginning Jan 8th – May 25th. While the internship is unpaid, there is a pro-rated weekly stipend and MetroCard reimbursement. Academic credit can also usually be arranged through interns’ university. Internships are generally held by undergraduate and graduate students, or recent college graduates. Housing cannot be provided. Part time (20 hours/week min.) and full-time applicants are welcomed.
