Based in New York City, Broadway Licensing also services the Playscripts Inc. catalog and licenses professional and amateur productions worldwide, publishes acting editions and trade anthologies, and is committed to connecting theaters with fresh, new voices.

 

Job Description

 

Broadway Licensing seeks an intern with a strong interest in learning about social media marketing, specifically for the theatre and musical theatre industry. This highly-interactive internship aims to provide experience working with new musicals and plays within our catalogue, and an opportunity to participate in our daily operations as we partner with theatres and playwrights. An appreciation of theater and an enthusiasm for new works is a plus.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily assistance to the marketing team
  • Industry research
  • Social Media coordination
  • Website maintenance
  • Data entry
  • Contributing to new marketing efforts and ideas

 

Qualifications

 

We're looking for energetic, self-motivated and responsible individuals with excellent written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and an ability to multitask.

 

Requirements: 

  • Major/minor in business, marketing, or related field
  • Well-versed in major social media platforms (Facebook, twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)

Preferred:

  • Theatre background/industry knowledge
  • Graphic design experience
  • Strong personal social media presence

 

A stipend is provided for part-time internships ($20/day), and the experience is eligible for course credit at most schools. Ideal commitment is 2-3 days a week. Minimum length of internship is 3 months, with a start date starting immediately.
