EMILY- Female, mid-20s to early 30s. Actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to submit.
Emily Webb is a child of Grover’s Corners, daughter to prominent members of the town’s cultural life.
She is independent and intelligent. Emily undeniably holds George in a different regard than anyone
else. Her life is a model of composition—the brightest student at her school, Emily lives her life in a
grounded and focused manner. At the same time, her mind can wander into the stars. Emily is at once
a pragmatist and a dreamer. She lives openly and sincerely, present and ready to embrace whatever
life throws at her. She lacks guile and naiveté, and she possesses no sense of irony. The actress
playing Emily should be able to capture the awkwardness and complications of being a young person,
both in language skills and physicality. The character of Emily demands an actor with emotional
