DESCRIPTION

Primary Stages seeks interns to support our season of new American plays as well as the Einhorn School of Performing Arts and the Off-Broadway Oral History Project. Primary Stages is an Off-Broadway not-for-profit theater company dedicated to inspiring, supporting, and sharing the art of playwriting. We operate on the strongly held belief that the future of American theater relies on nurturing playwrights and giving them the artistic support needed to create new work.
 

Interns form a core of support in all areas of the company’s operations gaining experience in their chosen department while receiving a weekly stipend of $50, mentorship seminars with senior staff, and free or reduced priced ESPA classes. Our program offers the opportunity to develop practical skills while creating relationships with artists and administrators at one of New York City’s preeminent Off Broadway theaters.

·         Company/Production Management

·          Development

·          Education

·          Marketing

 

·          Oral History Project (Hours are on Tue, Wed, and Thr)

 

Application Deadline: The official deadline is Friday, March 9th. Interviews begin in mid-March. 

Program Dates:  Internships begin in mid-May/early June and run until mid/late August

 

Candidate Requirements and Benefits:
All candidates must be well-organized, proactive, detail-oriented, posses strong communication skills and be able to multi-task. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook) is important. Must have a strong interest in the not-for-profit arts. Candidates must commit a minimum of 20 hours per week. Degree credit may be arranged.
