Job Details

DESCRIPTION

Tilted Windmills Theatricals, a busy production company founded by Broadway veteran David Carpenter and two-time Tony Award winner John Arthur Pinckard, is currently seeking two full-time interns to join us for Summer 2019. We are currently represented Off-Broadway by PUFFS: Or, Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic. However, we have projects in every stage of the production cycle, from packaging star-driven shows for Broadway, to developing new titles in workshop and out-of-town productions.

A TWT internship provides a hands-on opportunity to learn about the four primary areas of operation in a producing office: creative development, financing, production management, and marketing/sales.

Dates & Availability:

Start and end dates are flexible, but we hope to be joined by at least one intern by mid-April. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm. Overtime or split shifts will be periodically necessary, mostly as shows go into production, but will usually be planned in advance.

Experience You Will Gain:

All interns are responsible for general office administration, e.g. phones, filing, travel planning, etc. In addition to these general responsibilities, each internship at TWT is tailored to include a variety of special projects that we will plan at the start of the term. These projects will fall under one of the four areas of operation and will depend on the intern’s experience, interests, and the needs of the office.

Possible projects include:

•Research — dramaturgical, marketing/sales, future investor leads

•Assisting the partners in preparing reports for co-producers and/or investors

•Drafting and proofing contracts, options, and other deals

•Enhancing TWT’s social media presence

Qualifications:

•Superior communication (both written and verbal) skills

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

•Basic experience or proficiency with Quickbooks, Expensify, Daylite, and Photoshop are all plusses.

•Ability to remain calm during high pressure and deadline-driven situations is critical.

•Experience in theatre production, either as an independent producer, general manager, or company manager is a huge plus. Interest in at least one of these areas is required.

•Sense of humor a must!

Compensation:

The internship comes with a small stipend plus a monthly unlimited Metrocard. We are happy to complete any paperwork for active students seeking course credit.
