Founded in 1842, the New York Philharmonic is the oldest symphony orchestra in the United States, and one of the oldest in the world. Each season the Philharmonic connects with up to 50 million music lovers through live concerts in New York City and on its worldwide tours and residencies as well as with its digital recording series; international broadcasts on television, radio, and online; and as a resource through its varied education programs and expansive digital archive.
The New York Philharmonic seeks a Part Time Customer Relations Representative to provide customer service to the general public on the phone and in person.
Customer Relations is responsible for a 7-day a week call center and providing assistance at all concerts. The right candidate must be able to commit to working both during the day and evening hours. Primarily Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday but flexibility during the week is preferred.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Answering phones,
• Process orders,
• Handle money/balance sales transactions at the end of the day,
• Troubleshoot issues,
• Work with box office staff,
• Perform general clerical work,
• Miscellaneous duties as required.
The ideal candidate must have previous customer service experience; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to work independently and handle stressful situations professionally. Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and math skills required. Knowledge of Tessitura, call center operation or box office experience a plus. An enthusiasm for classical music is preferred.
