Scorpio Entertainment and the Commercial Theater Institute are currently seeking candidates to fulfill an internship position.


Start Date: December 2019/January 2020*

End Date: May/June 2020*

Salary: $100 reimbursement/week

Scorpio Entertainment, Inc. is a theatrical production company founded in 1991 by Steven Baruch and Tom Viertel.  Working closely with their partners Richard Frankel and Marc Routh, their Broadway productions have won 52 Tony Awards and include landmark titles like Angels in America, The Producers and Hairspray. Tom Viertel is also the Executive Director of the Commercial Theater Institute (CTI).


The Scorpio/CTI intern assists with the management of the CTI and attends its events.  A joint venture of the industry umbrella organization, The Broadway League, and the leading not-for-profit supporter of Broadway, TDF, CTI provides courses that allow participants to gain an overview of the work of a Broadway producer or focus on the subjects that interest them in great detail.  For more information, please visit the CTI website:


The internship is full-time, Monday through Friday 10am - 6pm, and a $100 travel/food reimbursement is provided. Interns must be organized, possess excellent communication and writing skills, have the ability to thrive in a high paced work environment, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be self-motivated. Some responsibilities include serving as event staff at CTI courses, completing weekly CTI enrollment reports, corresponding with CTI participants, running errands, filing, copying/scanning, researching, answering phones, taking minutes at meetings, and completing various other special projects.  The availability to work occasional evening hours, a valid driver’s license, and comfort driving a van are a plus, but are not required. The dress code is business casual and there is a creative working environment.
