I'm producing a developmental reading of my new screen play, "A Poor Player", examining the intersection between the works of Wiliam Shakespeare, Garcia Lorca and what it means to be an artist in the 21st century.
This is an an unpaid position, but an oppurtunity to be a part of development on a new comedy screen play and to meet a diverse room of performers, writers and fellow artists.
Seeking actors to read the following roles, descriptions and ages are guidelines, as this is a developmental reading, actors across the gender and age spectrum are encouraged to apply.
Ron, 40-50s, male: Character actor and musician, tries his best to support the leads in spite of his own short comings.
Jim, 50s-60s, male: Owner of a theme restaurant, sober now, but partied with the best of them "back in the day". Thoughtful and kind, but can be short tempered with his employees.
Stage Directions: Seeking an actor to read stage directions.
Various ensemble roles: Seeking several actors to read for parts in the ensemble.
