Literally Alive Theatre, a family theatre going into it’s 20th Season and in residence at the Players Theatre in Greenwich Village is seeking arts in education professionals for several positions described below. The 2019-20 season includes:
Alice in Wonderland the Musical September 21 – November 17
A Christmas Carol the Musical December 1 – 30th
The Little Mermaid the Musical – Feb – April 2020
All shows are original. Majority of performances are on the weekend with some midweek school performances. Note: A Christmas Carol has a full 8/9 show week schedule. Interested in hiring for the season but will consider a show by show hire. All applicants should have experience working with children and be extremely organized and responsible.
The theatre is located at 115 MacDougal Street between West 3rd and Bleecker.
Art Workshop Coordinator:
Seeking a highly personable and responsible individual to facilitate our weekend pre-show art workshops which occur one hour before the Saturday (3p) and Sunday (11a) matinees. As Coordinator you will facilitate an art project for the families to enjoy before each show. This would include set up and clean up. Crafts are already established and you would need to give instructions to children as well as help them complete their project. Parents stay with their children and are encouraged to participate in the activity. At the beginning of the workshop, the production team will talk with the children about how they bring the musical to life on stage. Per performance fee of $40
Art Workshop Intern:
Seeking a reliable and personable person to support the Art Workshop Coordinator for our weekend pre-show art workshops which occur one hour before the Saturday (3p) and Sunday (11a) matinees. Youth Ensemble Coordinator
Seeking an extremely reliable and organized individual to coordinate our Youth Ensemble program. All shows have a professional adult cast with a small youth ensemble. Children are double-cast. Candidate must have experience working with children in the performing arts as well administrative duties. YEC will help facilitate the program by being responsible for the following:
· Participate and facilitate casting
· Scheduling of rehearsals and performances
· Must be at all rehearsals and performances with the YE
· Liaison with parents and production team
· Assist the children in preparing for each performance including warm-ups, rehearsing and getting into costume
· Assist children in getting to their entrances
· Children must be supervised at all times
Pay is $40 per performance and $30 per rehearsal.
Youth Ensemble intern:
This position assists the Youth Ensemble Coordinator and will participate in all rehearsals and performances. Candidate must be very responsible and enjoy working with children. Experience working with performing arts children a plus. Small travel stipend to be offered
