Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre
Brooklyn, NY 11225

Job Details

Founded in 2012, Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre is a tight-knit community of artists who train, work, and create together. We love the classics and care deeply about gender parity, diversity, and including underrepresented voices.

We are seeking dedicated ensemble members to join the company. Ensemble members are the heart of the company, and we take building our ensemble of warm, motivated individuals very seriously. Ensemble members attend monthly training sessions (second Monday night of each month), are prioritized for casting in all projects, and are dedicated to supporting fellow ensemble members and growing the company.

We believe in building an inclusive artistic family that blends many voices and perspectives to create fresh tellings of classically inspired stories. We value diversity of type, background, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender identity. Both union and non-union members are welcome to apply to join our growing company.

We are enthusiastically seeking:

  • Actors of color
  • Actors who identify as multi-hypenate artists (actor-producer-director, actor-playwrights, actor-dramaturgs-designer, etc.)
  • Artists from marginalized groups
  • Designers, directors, photographers, technicians, stage managers, and producers who may be interested in working in an ensemble setting.
Hedgepig produces 1-2 Mainstage productions per season and a variety of readings/workshop/event-like productions. We are dedicated to paying stipends to members for their work. Historically, this has varied widely ($25 - $500/project) depending on fundraising success. For a better understanding of our work, please go to
