The Random Farms Kids Theater in Westchester, NY is seeking a scenic designer for its teen production of "Urinetown"   Responsibilities include:

  • Creating design of set within budget limiations in collaboration with Director and Artistic Director
  • Handling major construction and painting of the set and all set components.  You will be provided with building and load in assistance if necessary
  • Picking up materials (lumber, paint, etc.) and providing necessary tools. Random Farms will reimburse for transport
  • Overseeing set dressings.
  • Consulting with Production Coordinator on nature and delivery of pieces
  • Overseeing and assisting with load-in, set assembly and post-production strike immediately following the last performance.
  • Being available to troubleshoot any problems with the set or any of its components during tech week  
  Commitment: 1-3 pre production and design meetings in September and October Majority of building and painting can take place at our studio in Elmsford, NY during the month of December as that is when we have the most building space available.  Limited work can be done in the beginning of January. Load in: Jan 19th Troubleshooting and detail work on set at theater during the week of Jan 20th Load Out: Feb 2nd
