DESCRIPTION

A new Off-Broadway play with music is in search of a sound technician/board op. This is a 1950's period piece. There is live music: 8 mic'd actors who sing classic rock solos and duets, accompanied by an electric pianist and guitarist. The sound design is completed and all sound effects are recorded, but they need to be plugged into QLab.

We are looking for a talented and hardworking individual with a great attitude and willingness to collaborate. You must be smart, resourceful, and an experienced technician.

REQUIRED AVAILABILITY
The show opens in midtown Manhattan on June 28, so you would need to be available to start work sooner rather than later. You would be asked to attend one or two production meetings and then be available for all of tech week (load-in Sunday, June 23rd; tech June 24th - June 27th).
You will also run the board:
June 28th through September 30th
Fridays - 8pm
Saturdays - 2pm
Sundays - 2pm
Mondays - 7pm
Extension is possible but your availability is only mandatory for June through September to be considered.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
Sound designer, assistant sound designer, or sound technician for theatre.
Familiarity/experience with QLab.
Experience with body mics as well as practicals (standing mics).
Experience mixing sound board levels of actors' mics, musicians/instruments, and sound cues.
Ability to patch mics and monitors as needed.
Ability to troubleshoot sound equipment and QLab.
