Seeking Composers and Lyricists for "Talented People Doing Things: A Peanuts Variety Show."

PRODUCERS: Kevin Martinez & Tessa Faye Talent LLC
DIRECTOR: Tessa Faye

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: The Producers and Creative Team for the Show are looking for Up-and-Coming Composers and lyricists to submit songs for our lineup of talented singers to perform. The night's theme is Talented People Doing Things, so the style of your song and its content can run the gamut - we will work it into the show if it's the right fit for the singer.

Producers Kevin Martinez and Tessa Faye Talent reunite the cast of the sold-out run of Dog Sees God: Confessions of A Teenage Blockhead for an evening entitled "Talented People Doing Things: A Peanuts Variety Show". This is a one-night performance, debuting new works by New York's up-and-coming composers and lyricists and sang by the actors that brought the Peanuts parody to life earlier this year. Musical Director Ben Houghton leads the Broadway and Off-Broadway cast, which includes Kevin Martinez (The Chalice, Waste Fraud & Abuse), Sam Morales (Pericles, Measure for Measure), Andrew O'Shanick (Sunday in the Park...), Levin Valayil (Jungle Book, Monsoon Wedding), Autumn Guzzardi (9 to 5, Trip of Love, Escape to Margaritaville), Genvieve Johnson (A&E - Killer Verdict), Joe Marx (Spelling Bee), and Chelsea Stavis (Heathers, How to Succeed...). This show is not to be missed, as Tessa Faye (Pokémon, Electric Company) and Nikki MacCallum (Caroline’s, Dangerfield’s, VH1) host the evening that will feature a variety of vocal performances, along with but not limited to a Lip-Sync Battle, random audience talents, a Stand-Up set, and much much more.

Searching for Up-And-Coming Composers and Lyricists that would provide a song that we can feature during the Variety Show; its content, style and lyrics can run the gamut, as the theme of the night is "Talented People Doing Things", so that pretty much encompasses all songs that can touch on dating all the way to failed dreams. This is a great opportunity for you to hear your song with a full band behind it, a talented Broadway or off-broadway experienced performer, and in front of a sold out audience of 150 people at one of New York's premier and newest cabaret venues in Time Square.

By providing a song, your submission should include (preferably) a link to a video on youtube or video sharing platform where we can hear the song. If you don't already have a recorded version to share, then a self tape audio or video file can be submitted that has the song performed by you or another performer. Your song should note in your submission if it needs to be sung by a female or a male, or if it does not matter. Trust, if we like the style of your work, we will reach out to see if you have something else that fits better, or feel free to submit up to three songs (no more) for consideration.

By submitting and being chosen, the Producers of the show will provide you with a filmed version of the live performance for you to use for your own marketing needs, provided you credit the show and the singer anytime you do, and of course would invite you to attend the performance to hear your song Live.

Venue and further details set to be announced the week of September 17. We want to provide all songs to the performers by Wednesday Sept. 19, in order for them to properly prepare for the performance.

Email your submissions to All submissions are due by Sept. 16 at 11:59 p.m. If you are submitting self tapes, please upload them to youtube or other video platform (you can make it public or not listed) and then share the link with the Creative Team, or sharing a link to a Google Drive works too.

Do not send audio files directly in the email.

If the songs need any introduction or explanation, put that in the body of the email. If your song is part of a new musical that you are working on, also let us know that as it could help the Producers see it fit into the theme of our show. If chosen, you will need to provide notated sheet music, a recorded version of the song for the performer, and (preferred, but not required) charts for your song that can be provided to the band (Piano, Drums, Guitar, Bass).
