Technical Director/ Rental Shop Manager - On Call Gig But With Amazing Pay and Benefits - Cleveland Area
Fourth Wall Scenic is a new and exciting scenery rental company conceived and run by current and former stage hands.
Currently Fourth Wall is seeking a Technical director/ rental shop manager for our Cleveland warehouse. This person will be responsible for keeping the sets in good repair, overseeing the loading and unloading of trucks, verifying set conditions and that all rented items return.
Due to the nature of our business, this is an on call position HOWEVER, we are offering a generous salary and incentive package as a way to make sure we get the right candidate.
We are offering a $500 per month guaranteed base pay. The $500 is yours to keep whether or not your called in that month at all. If nothing else it is a retainer. In the event you are called in, the $500 covers your first 12 hours worth of work which comes to $41.66 per hour. Anything over 12 hours in a month is paid at an hourly rate of $33 per hour.
In addition to base salary, we are offering profit sharing on all sets that leave the warehouse. For each set that is rented directly from our warehouse the rental shop manager will receive a 2% bonus. On an average rental, this would be an additional $120 for every truck leaving the warehouse on top of base pay and additional hourly pay.
Qualifications for this position are strict and are as follows:
• At least 3+ years working closely with larger scale theatrical or corporate scenery
• Very strong communication and leadership skills
• Very strong organization skills
• Extensive experience reading shop build plans in CAD, Vectorworks, etc
• Strong carpentry skills
• Self starter
• 1 year + of working in a theatrical or corporate build shop
• Extensive experience in how to properly load a truck to avoid damage to pieces
