At New York Theatre Workshop, we work relentlessly to empower visionary theatre‐makers and bring their work to adventurous audiences through productions, artist workshops and educational programs. We nurture pioneering new writers like Hammaad Chaudry and Nathan Alan Davis alongside powerhouse playwrights like Amy Herzog and Ayad Akhtar. Since our founding in 1979, we've produced over 150 fully‐realized productions including Jonathan Larson's Rent; Tony Kushner's Homebody/Kabul; Doug Wright's Quills; Claudia Shear's Dirty Blonde; Rick Elice’s Peter and the Starcatcher; Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová and Enda Walsh’s Once; and David Bowie and Enda Walsh’s Lazarus. Enabling our artists to push boundaries generates work like Anaïs Michell’s stirring and unforgettable Hadestown, Geoff Sobelle’s magical and transformative The Object Lesson and Mfoniso Udofia’s epic, sweeping two‐part cycle, Sojourners & Her Portmanteau. NYTW productions have received a Pulitzer Prize, seventeen Tony Awards and numerous Obie, Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Awards.
But that’s not what we’re proudest of. We take the greatest satisfaction from the community we’ve built, and the perspective‐shifting experiences we’ve delivered along the way. About the Team:
The Company Manager is a temporary addition to the two‐person Producing Department. Led by the Producing Manager and supported by the Producing Associate, the Producing Department is responsible for five fully‐realized productions in our annual season as well as co‐facilitating the Next Door at NYTW program in our 65‐seat 4th Street Theatre. The producing team is the locus of communications between internal departments at NYTW, artistic collaborators, and other industry stakeholders (e.g. unions, Off‐Broadway League, etc.). The Company Manager reports to the Producing Manager and will provide support to the Producing team on the upcoming productions of SING STREET, ENDLINGS, and SANCTUARY CITY.
About the Position:
Assists with preparation of company payroll and union benefit reports on a weekly basis as well as preparing invoices and paperwork for weekly accounts payable submissions.
Assists in management of off‐site projects (rehearsals and performances at non‐NYTW venues), serving as one of the producing representatives and liaisons at those venues.
Drafts contracts and manages contract administration ensuring accurate and timely completion of contracts and employment paperwork for all artists engaged on NYTW productions.
Provides in‐person support to artists during rehearsals, previews, and performances, acting as a first point of contact for those individuals. Assists Producing Associate with hospitality needs for artists.
Arranges and manages travel and housing for out‐of‐town artists.
Assists in preparation of visa applications, if any, for international artists.
Attends production meetings, rehearsals, tech rehearsals, and previews as necessary to provide departmental support and continuity.

You have strong planning, organizational and communication skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)

You have knowledge of union best practices and collective bargaining agreements utilized Off‐Broadway
You have financial or budgetary control experience

This is an hourly position, eligible for overtime. Rate is $20/hour. Hours will range from 20‐50 per week depending on production work load. Benefits include employer paid medical, dental and life insurance and paid time off.
