What is The Initiative Lab?

A One-Day Multi-Disciplinary Script Development Lab that will meet on Saturday August 31st for 3 hours. Artists will bring in material they have been working on, present to the group, and receive feedback. You will also receive a comprehensive guideline on developing work independently or with an institution.

Artists from various disciplines encouraged to apply.

All sessions are facilitated by Marie Cisco. Marie Cisco is a Producer. She currently works as a Producer for Lee Daniels Entertainment and formerly as a Line Producer at The Public Theater. She has also produced with The New Black Fest and The National Black Theatre among others.

What does it Offer?

  • Tools and techniques to develop your work through valuable feedback from your peers and Professionals working in various art industries.
  • You will develop skills and methods of creating work that you can use on any project after the Lab.
  • You will be asked questions that force you to think about the work you want to create and why it is important to you.
  • The opportunity to the take the initiative and work on the project you've been dreaming of starting

Who Can Apply?

  1. Any artist who creates work within the following disciplines can apply
  • Film
  • Theatre
  • Performance Art

    2. Must be at least 18 years old  


The lab fee for all participants is $150.
