BREAKDOWN

[PROSPERO]
Male, African-American, Late 50’s-60’s. A Magician. A father. Smart, sensitive. An alcoholic who is alternately deeply turbulent and warm and sweet. Transforms into other aspects of himself (in the form of different characters (i.e.- a Jewish man from the Bronx)) so must be malleable but grounded in approach.

[MIRANDA]
Female, African-American or Mixed Race, Early 30's. Prospero's daughter. Curious. Funny. Has a truly playful side and access to both great humor and true vulnerability. Must be a skilled actress able to carry a play.
