DESCRIPTION

The Palace Theater in Wisconsin Dells is seeking SUBMISSIONS for the following roles in its upcoming production of Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story.

 

The Buddy Holly Story tells the true story of the last few years of Buddy Holly’s life, spotlighting his meteoric rise to fame from the moment in 1957 when That’ll be the Day hit the airwaves until his tragic death on “the day the music died.”

 

Rehearsals start approximately 4/4/17, Show opens 4/21/17 and closes 5/21/17. CHARACTER BREAKDOWN

JERRY ALLISON

Drummer, preferably under 25 from Lubbock, Texas. Good looking, irrepressible cheeky chappie with musical ability. Must be able to sing and act.

RITCHIE VALENS

Good looking, under 25 and of Hispanic-American extraction. Ritchie is an attractive, handsome boy with serious charisma, a dedicated eye for the ladies, and the ability to hold the stage in his own right. His key song is “La Bamba”. Must be able to act and the ability to play a musical instrument an advantage but not prohibitive.

 

HIPOCKETS DUNCAN

Under 40, an exuberant hometown radio DJ from Lubbock, Texas, with an air of authority and a keen sense of humor. Must be able to sing and prefer to have the ability to play a musical instrument.

ACTORS/ACTRESSES WHO PLAY TRUMPET, SAXOPHONE, TROMBONE OR GUITAR

Must play an instrument and have ability to play a multitude of roles. We shall define the show around the talent which is available.
