DESCRIPTION

The Theatreworks Producer works on season planning and is responsible for the successful execution of pre-production planning, budgeting, hiring, contracting, and casting; success is determined as on-time, on or under budget, artistically excellent, and in keeping with the theatre's values. The Producer develops production plans including budgets, schedules, and advance work with designers, directors, actors, and production staff. They connect with community, especially with the diverse University faculty, staff and student body.They supervise and evaluate contracted artists, production staff, part-time employees, and student employees.


The Producer is the fourth member of the Theatreworks team-- joining the Artistic Director, Technical Director, and Costume Shop Manager-- while working closely alongside the Marketing, Development, Front-of-House, Box Office, and Finance staff within the new Ent Center for the Arts. 

 

In addition to experience in and passion for theatrical production and operations, the right candidates will have attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projectsl.

Theatreworks Colorado Springs is the professional theatre company in residence at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. After a more than forty year history, Theatreworks moved into a new theater in the Ent Center for the Arts in January 2018 and welcomed its second-ever Artistic Director Caitlin Lowans in August of 2018. This has led to new strategic initiatives, namely increasing artistic capacity, fostering educational collaborations at the University, and creating partnerships with other community organizations in order to broaden and deepen the impact within the region.
