DESCRIPTION

Alfred University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of Performance Design for a full time position beginning August 21, 2018, with possibility of renewal. Requirements: an MA or MFA (preferred) in theatre design, with expertise in scenery and lighting.  Those with previous teaching and professional design experience are preferred. Responsibilities include designing for two theatre productions, one dance production, and teaching one to two design classes each semester bringing the load to twelve (12) credits per semester. Additional responsibilities include mentoring student designers on productions, and enhancing student’s growth in design and the creation of performances. Theatre productions are supported by a full time Technical Director and part time Costume Shop Manager. The two theatre productions are Waiting for Godot and The Tempest.
