The Department of Theatre at Coastal Carolina University seeks a full-time faculty in Voice and Speech for a one-year appointment. Candidate will be able to apply for the tenure track position the following year pending university approval of the position. Primary responsibility is to teach a 4-4 load including vocal production, voice and speech, elevated text work, dialects and accents for the stage, as well as provide support for the production season in the form of vocal, text and/or dialect coaching. Candidates given strongest consideration will have experience teaching voice and speech work at the collegiate level from an established and recognized pedagogy. Required experience:
M.F.A., other terminal degree in theatre or commensurate professional experience in the field and exhibit strong potential for excellence in teaching. Must have certification in established and recognized voice pedagogy (i.e. Linklater, Hart, Rodenburg). Some experience teaching acting at a collegiate level is preferred. Candidates must have a terminal degree in theatre. Applicants must submit a letter of application, professional resume and/or vita and contact information for at least three references.
