Rehearsals in NYC to begin on or about: 7/8/19 (3 weeks)

Rehearsal & Tech in Tokyo to begin on or about: 8/5/19 (2 weeks)

Opening: week of August 19-25, 2019

Contracted through: 10/27/19

Salary: 
Principals $1250.00 wk (slightly negotiable). Featured/ Supporting $900.00 wk (some roles slightly negotiable). Ensemble $700.00 wk. 

For the Tokyo portion of the contract, all actors will receive single hotel room, round trip economy airfare and $80.00 per diem daily. There is no housing, transportation or per diem in NYC for rehearsals.

Note - No Out Clause: Employee may not unilaterally terminate this Agreement at any time, due to the short duration of this contract and the distance and expense of mounting an international production in Tokyo, Japan.  If Employee terminates this agreement for any reason, they will be responsible for all documented costs associated with the Employee’s replacement in an amount not to exceed Five Thousand ($5,000) U.S. Dollars.  

 
WEST SIDE STORY will rehearse for three weeks in NYC with two weeks of tech before opening in Tokyo, Japan during the week of August 19-25, 2019. The IHI Stage Around Tokyo is a new state-of-the-art venue where the audience is seated in the center on a huge circular platform that rotates, surrounded by 360 degrees of stages and screens. https://www.tbs.co.jp/stagearound/theater/english.html

**MUST have a VALID PASSPORT through February 2020**

PLEASE NOTE: Japanese authorities will likely deny a visa to anyone convicted of a drug offense, felony or misdemeanor, no matter how dated or minor.

WOMEN WHO DANCE: 11am.  Sign up begins at 10am and the list will be pulled by 12pm.

 

SEEKING:

ANITA: (mid 20s – early 30s) A sexy, vivacious Latina & full of life.  Must be an excellent dancer. Strong belt to C#. Strong actress. PRINCIPAL

THE JET GIRLS: (18 & up to play late teens – early 20s.  All-American types. Must be excellent dancers with strong ballet/jazz technique (singing a plus). ENSEMBLE

THE SHARK GIRLS: (18 & up to play late teens – early 20s) Must be excellent dancers with strong ballet/jazz technique who sing well. Actively seeking Puerto-Rican/ Latinx types but will consider all ethnicities. ENSEMBLE

WHAT TO PREPARE

 ALL WOMEN should come prepared to dance first. Character Shoes. Have ballet slippers with you, just in case. Be prepared to stay and sing if asked. Prepare 16 bars of music in the style of the show. Bring your full book of music and a recent headshot/resume. Typing may occur.
