Title Managing Assistant
Category Administrative
Description The Peoples Improv Theater is looking for a Full Time Managing Assistant to join the daytime staff of our 50-seat black box theater and comedy school.

The duties include, but are not limited to:

-Processing class registrations and payments
-Preparing class packets and rosters
-Responsible for all class correspondence including start-date reminders and announcements
-Coordinating the Intern Program
-Answering phones and fielding general questions about our theater, school and corporate workshops
-Acting as liaison between students, instructors and PIT staff

Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm

Salary: $23,000 per year (with room for growth)

Health Insurance (after 90 days)

The Managing Assistant answers to the Managing Director and works closely with the Owner and Artistic Director as well. Ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent people and customer service skills. Attention to detail is imperative. Candidates should also have a pleasant and appealing phone manner, strong organizational skills, and be Mac proficient. Knowledge of and interest in the New York comedy scene, especially improv, is a plus. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who love theater and comedy to join our fun yet professional team! No actors please.

The Peoples Improv Theater is dedicated to the instruction, performance, and development of original comedy. The PIT strives to entertain and educate the community about the comedic arts in a safe and nurturing environment. The PIT is composed of three elements: a school that focuses on the craft of improvisation, an eclectic variety of electives, and an unparalleled professional writing program; a theater that presents original comedic shows seven nights a week; and a corporate and educational workshop program that offers team building, leadership, and business training.
