Actors' Equity Association is currently seeking to fill the position of Business Representative for Off-Broadway, Stage Reading Contracts, and Business Theatre.
The ideal candidate must perform the following duties.
Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains relations between union, members, and employers
- Administers collective bargaining agreements
- Supervises a Contract Associate
- Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Completes projects on time.
- Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming;
-Maintains confidentiality;
- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Participates in meetings.
- Writes clearly and informatively; Able to read and interpret written information.
- Works cooperatively with a team; Shares expertise with others; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things; Balances team and individual responsibilities; Gives and welcomes feedback; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; Supports everyone's efforts to succeed.
- Works with integrity and ethically; Upholds organizational values.
- Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Exercises self-motivation.
Education/Experience/Skills
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Theatre degree, labor union and/or theatrical experience preferred.
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office software and general computer skills.
Compensation
- Salary $36,400
- Excellent fully paid family health insurance
