In the Mood, a 1940s musical revue Singers, Dancers - U.S. Tour
May 8th from 10AM-4PM (sign up at 9:30am) at Ripley Grier Studios, 520 8th Ave. NYC
Bud Forrest Entertainment casting singers and dancers for 1940s big band tour (our 15th year) for Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 tours. Casting female alto singers only who are sophisticated, attractive and experienced performers, 5’7” (no heels) and taller, who can sight read music and are excellent at holding harmonies. Male singers baritone or tenor 5’8” and taller. Requires close harmony/vocal group singing and some solo work with big band . Singers come dressed appropriately (no jeans or T-shirts). Standard songs - Gershwin, Porter, Berlin or a song from the 1940s - no current Broadway. Dancers come prepared for dance audition. Female/Male dancers with theatrical experience with singing ability. Jitterbug, Lindy Hop, other 1940s dance styles as well as tap. Dance couples welcome as well. Female/Male singers open call auditions Thursday, May 8th 10am-2pm. Dancers open call 2pm-4pm. Sign up ½ hour prior to start of audition at Ripley-Grier Studios, 520 8th Ave., 16th Floor NYC. Need government photo ID to enter building. Bring pix and resumes stapled and sheet music in the appropriate key. Pianist provided for all auditions. All ethnicities welcome. Weekly performing fee plus all transportation, rooms and some meals provided for tour.
