Description
|
Two male actors are needed for Carol Polcovar's prize winning play Stonewall Stories to be performed at New York's LGBT Community Center during Gay Pride Week. All performances will be benefits for "Sylvia's Place", a shelter for homeless LGBT teenagers.
Roles available:
TOMMY, a teenage runaway from a New Jersey blue collar community. Tommy is an idealistic young man, still in awe of what is available to him in New York City.
SYLVIA RIVERA, legendary sexual outlaw and social and political activist. "Sylvia's Place" is named in her honor. Sylvia has been described as a combination of Che Guevara and Harpo Marx.
The play is a memory play and actors of any race between the ages of eighteen and forty will be considered.
The play will be performed under the Theatre Authority Benefit Regulations (Clearance Pending). Rehearsals will begin in early June.
All performers will be paid an honorarium
