Jersey Boys — Equity Chorus Call / Singers Who Move Extremely Well
Broadway, August Wilson Theatre and 1st Nat’l Tour
Production Contract $1509/week minimum
Producers: Dodger Stage Holdings
Music: Bob Gaudio. Lyrics: Bob Crewe. Book: Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice
Director: Des McAnuff. Choreographer: Sergio Trujillo. Musical Director: Ron Melrose
Casting: Tara Rubin Casting
From the mean streets of Jersey to American Bandstand, the story of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became the biggest doo-wop sensation of all time: The Four Seasons. Uses their music; brings to life the exciting early days of rock-and-roll, and the price of fame for four guys who had nothing – and everything – to lose.
Seeking:
Male and female singers:
For future replacements in the Broadway company and 1st National Tour company. Male and female singers who move extremely well, to comprise the ensemble and understudy the principals. Singers of all races and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to attend this call. Featured ensemble parts include:
Joe Pesci:
20s-early 30s. Must be 5’9”or shorter. Young, energetic. Must be a good actor and a strong singer. Ability to play guitar a plus, but not required. Ensemble role. May understudy ‘Frankie Valli.’
Three Women:
20s-mid 30s. Fabulous, versatile actress/singers with flexible vocal registers to play a variety of roles (the many girlfriends of the Four Seasons, etc). Should fit well together a la 60’s band Shangrilas and be believable as ‘tough-as-nails’ Jersey girls. Must be very comfortable with traditional four-part harmonies. All three women need to belt and/or have strong mix. One track belts up to F-natural and two tracks also need high soprano.
Four Men:
20s-40s. Strong actor/singers to play various roles (friends, producers, etc). One track requires a strong tenor to high C, with a strong falsetto and the ability to riff in rhythm-and-blues style. Another track requires a baritone or baritenor voice down to a strong low G. A third track includes playing guitar. And a fourth track includes playing drums or possibly both guitar AND drums.
